Announcing "Apocalypse Never"

Dear Friends,

I am happy to announce that on June 30, HarperCollins will publish my new book, Apocalypse Never.

Apocalypse Never contains chapters on climate change, deforestation, species extinction, plastic waste, meat, nuclear, renewables, fossil fuels, poverty, and much more. It is the culmination of more than 30 years of my research, writing, and advocacy on environmental issues.

I wrote Apocalypse Never because much of what people believe about the environment is wrong, and we desperately need to get it right. The book was initially focused on nuclear energy. I decided to broaden its focus last year in response to the increasingly apocalyptic claims being made about climate change, deforestation, and species extinction.

While the Kindle version is cheaper and more ecological, I hope you will consider purchasing the hardcover. The comprehensive nature of the book, and its length — it's 400 pages long, 100 of which are endnotes — make the print version easier and more enjoyable to read. The hardcover also includes a beautiful, eight-page color photographic insert.

I could not have written Apocalypse Never without the support of the loyal and generous donors, board, and staff of Environmental Progress. We believe the book is essential to making the case both for nuclear and for humanistic and pragmatic approach to environmental issues more broadly.

Finally, I am proud to report that Apocalypse Never is receiving strong pre-publication reviews from scientists and scholars who represent a wide diversity of disciplines and viewpoints. I have reprinted a few below, and the full list of blurbs can be found on our website.
